Living Cruelty Free
All over the world, animals are fighting for their lives. They are enslaved, beaten, and kept in chains to make them perform for human’s entertainment; they are mutilated and confined to tiny cages so that we can kill and eat them; they are burned, blinded, poisoned, and cut up alive in the name of science; they are electrocuted, strangled, and skinned alive so that people can parade around in their shoes and coats.
Over 115 million animals are used in experiments globally each year. The harmful use of animals in experiments is not only cruel but also often ineffective as treatments showing ‘promise’ in animals rarely work in humans. Not only are time, money, and animals’ lives being wasted (with a huge amount of suffering) but effective treatments are being mistakenly discarded and harmful treatments are getting through.
Millions of animals suffer and die in painful tests to determine the "safety" of cosmetics and household products. Substances ranging from eye shadow and soap to furniture polish and oven cleaner are tested on rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, dogs, and other animals, despite the fact that test results do not help prevent or treat human illness or injury. We play a vital role in eliminating cruel test methods.
